We use a special polyester that replicates the fiber structure of silk, giving it a "water resistance" that natural silk lacks.
This material is also used in washable kimonos and possesses a beautiful sheen just like real silk.
While our waxed cotton shoelaces are our most popular style, the wax finish can gradually wear away, causing the luster to fade. This happens even faster when exposed to rain.

Made by a Historic Braid-Maker of Kimono Sashes
These laces are crafted by a historic braid-maker that produces artisanal goods like kimono sashes (obijime).
Creating this product requires the delicate work of braiding fine threads. Though machine-assisted, the process involves a great deal of hands-on work by skilled artisans, resulting in a lace rich with expert craftsmanship.
A Versatile 7/50ʺ(3.5mm) Width
It's a perfectly balanced width—not too thin, yet not too thick.
This makes it look sharp on dress shoes while also pairing naturally with boots.
