Estimated length of laces for leather shoes [From low shoes to boots according to the number of eyelet holes]

革靴の紐の長さの目安【鳩目穴の数別に短靴からブーツまで】

We will introduce the approximate length of leather shoe laces by the number of eyelets.

To make it easier for you to imagine, I have included a picture of the shoe actually being put through, so please refer to it when you replace the laces.

Regarding the guideline for the length of the string, things to be aware of when replacing the string

Please understand that although we introduce a guideline for the length, it is only a guideline. This is for the following reasons.

[The distance between the eyelets varies depending on the shoe]

Since the distance between the eyelets varies from shoe to shoe, there are differences in the appropriate length even for shoes with the same number of eyelets.

In the case of the shoes in the image below, the right shoe has a longer eyelet distance, so making the laces about 5 cm longer than the left shoe will give the right length.

Eyelet-to-eyelet distance varies from shoe to shoe

[The spread of the wings varies depending on the fitting]

There is a difference in the appropriate length depending on how the wings spread. Especially if the wings are spread out, you will need a longer string than usual.

In the image below, the string appears shorter on the right because the wings are wider. If the wings are wide open, you should make them about 5 cm longer than the standard.

The spread of the wings varies depending on the fitting

As mentioned above, the appropriate length varies depending on the eyelet distance and fitting. When buying new shoelaces, even if you choose them based on the guideline, they won't come off too much, but it's a sure bet to measure the laces that were originally attached.
